It's been a while since I've updated. Living in Laos is considered to be a 'hardship position' because lack of readily available services. Particularly, health care. If you go just across the border to Thailand, you're often dealing with medicine which was practiced in the US twenty years ago. I've made my connections with some good doctors in Bangkok.

My most recent problems have been lack of a multi-entry visa so if I go to Thailand, I can't return on a work visa. So I'm not sure if I can make my appointment at the end of the month. I may have to send someone to Nongkhai to buy some medicine for me - I can get medicine in Laos but my blood sugar went a bit crazy during the time I was taking the medicine.

It's frustrating but I have to balance my work, my life and my health.
